Palming  

 

     Sitting in any position that is comfortable to you, and having removed glasses if you wear them, rub the palms of your hands together to generate warmth. When you feel your palms are warm, close your eyes and gently place the palms over the eyes letting no light enter. All becomes pitch black. Hold for 30 seconds up to 3 minutes. This is a good time to practice one of the basic yogic breathing methods as well. If your arms tire while holding hands to eyes, you may alternately rest elbows on a table or cushion. Just remember to keep a straight back and good posture while practicing this, and every, yoga exercise.
